Varndean College hold their annual dance show at The Sallis Benney Theatre for the third year. The performance contains a variety of work choreographed by and for the students as part of the BTEC dance course.
First year students have been working with choreographer Lorraine Smith on a new work which will debut in the show. We also see an appearance by the talented ‘Coalition Dance Company’ for the second year (Coalition is formed of gifted and talented dance students from Varndean School, Varndean College and Dorothy Stringer School).
Part of the course sees the students undertaking a final major project, whereby they work as a company to organise this performance and create work. This year’s dance company ‘aDvANCE’ will show their full length work ‘Smile, you’re on CCTV’, which explores and questions the notion of big brother always watching you.
