She originally trained at Les Beaux-Arts of Montpellier, France, where she specialised in experimental animation. When she moved to England in 1997 she studied Dance and Visual Arts at the University of Brighton. Her eclectic background in arts, live performance and animation has led to her developing a very personal visual approach to the medium of filmmaking. Interested in bringing various mediums together such as animation, movement, narrative and text, she has been making dance films for the past 5 years. She has worked both in solo and in collaboration. Her main collaborators have been choreographer and performer, Maria Lloyd and director/video artist, Lucy Cash (formerly Lucy Baldwyn). Her award winning work has been broadcast and toured internationally. Her recent commissions include works for Channerl4, BBC, the Arts Council and the UK Film Council. http://magalicharrier.com
