Lino Hellings is an artist and lecturer. For more than 30 years, Lino has been working across different art forms starting with theatre-making (she was a co-founder of Dogtroep) after 15 years she shifted into the 'visual arts'.
Strongly influenced by her performance background she has been using different media from audio guided tours, video installations, large scale photography to choreography for the public. Lino has developed a practice of teaching that concentrates on the fissures and overlaps between different artistic disciplines and sensitivities, working with art school students in interactive and process based work. In her own practice, Lino approaches art making as a visual operation that flaunts between the borders of fiction and reality - one of her guiding maxims is "adding a drop of fiction to reality can expose beauty, anguish, humor, passion and wonder in everyday life".Digital diary of the working process:
