We are delighted to present an artist talk by Wolfgang Tillmans. The first photographer to win the Turner Prize, Berlin born Tillmans lives and works in London. For over 20 years, Tillmans has redefined photography and the way it is presented. His work has engaged with portraiture, landscape and still life, but more recently Tillmans has turned to a deeper exploration of abstraction. Tillmans' solo shows include Freedom from the Known at P.S.1, New York 2003, Lighter at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin 2008 and the current exhibition, Wolfgang Tillmans, showing at The Serpentine Gallery, London until September 19 2010. Wolfgang will be exploring ideas and relationships between contemporary art and documentary practice in response to the Brighton Photo Biennial 2010: New Documents, curated by Martin Parr.
