About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
About TED
TEDxBrighton is the city's first locally produced, independently organised, not for profit TEDx event, under licence from TED.
The day-long conference will be on Friday 21st January 2011, and present a fantastic programme of live speakers from a range of backgrounds, disciplines, and perspectives which reflect the exciting diversity of our fair City, alongside some classic TED talks.
The day will be divided into four sessions; two in the morning and two in the afternoon and all TEDxBrighton talks will also be filmed and added to an online archive, here, following the event.
Theme
The day’s talks will be based, in the broadest terms, around the theme: Reasons to be Cheerful – An optimistic look forward. For more information about the theme see: News/Choosing a theme for TEDxBrighton
Registration Information
