We consider that an unexpected or unplanned series of events, or even a single moment, can lead to amazing discoveries and life changing outcomes. From this principle we developed the theme of the TEDx University of Brighton event, Serendipity, a beautiful word understanding the realization that sometimes you can find something more suited to your needs than what you were actually looking for. TEDx University of Brighton is an independently organized TEDx event; managed, organized, and curated by a team of students. In accordance with the TED philosophy, we believe in the power of knowledge and ideas to develop the potential of each human being, and have an effect on the dynamics of the world.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUniversityofBrighton, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxUniversityofBrighton event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. More information.
