Age of Choice? Rethinking Life after 50

A free interactive event hosted by the University of Brighton

What kind of choices do people have after age 50?

This question is explored by bringing together social scientists, members of the public and service providers.

Findings from recent research will be shared to encourage discussion and debate.

• Jayne Raisborough (Leeds Becket University) will examine ageist stereotypes and how we can challenge them

• David Lain (University of Brighton) will discuss choices about paid work and caring for grandchildren.

• Andrea Jones (University of Sussex) will explore what makes it possible for people over 50 to live with friends.
