"Much of my work is situated within the “Place of Trauma” and inhabits a space between the traditional and the modern, the depicted and the represented, the negative and the sublime. Whilst my work inevitably exists today, I am also seeking a coherent link with the past and trying to uncover a sense of what might be left of the “Aura” in art made now. “Heat”, paradoxically, refers back to the primal and ritualistic importance of fire and the imaginary visions we all see within it, but is created using the latest technology that now drives our world."
