"//Cycle 7831 is a short film that explores the relationship of sound and moving image through experimental processes. The aural and visual elements influence each other’s creation and behaviour through feedback systems where spectral synthesis and audio analysis are fundamental devices. Spectral synthesis was used to generate sound from frames taken from the film itself, where placement and contrast equate to pitch and amplitude. These sounds were then arranged and combined with others to create the final track. The amplitude of the audio track was then analysed and converted into data that was in turn linked to effect parameters that affect the 3D modelled image." Joe Dunkley
