In 1958 Daniels came to Brighton for the ATD course, at that time headed with distinction by the painter Ronald Horton. Between 1963-89 Daniels then taught in the Fine Art Department where, as head of Printmaking, he forged important national and international links.
Daniels trained at the Slade, 1956-58. From real objects he derives forms which are then repeated or adjusted in scale and colour and arranged in varied, poetic and life-affirming configurations. His work ranges from large, colourful canvases like the example in the Aldrich Collection to suites of small aquatints.
Work in print includes Drawings by Harvey Daniels Introduction by Michael Tucker, published by Four Square.
Harvey Daniels' 10 Years is one of the books available from the Faculty of Arts online shop.
