Burt Brill and Cardens Degree Shows. Annual Show of Graduates Work- Gallery at University of Brighton, College of Arts and Humanities
Each summer, the people of Brighton look forward to the arts community's final year graduate shows.
University of Brighton students in their graduating year in practice disciplines mount the culminatory exhibition of their degree work, reflecting the development of their approach and their maturing vision during their years on the arts, design and architecture degree courses.
An integral part of the arts degree process as well as a show of remarkable variety and quality, the annual University of Brighton Graduate Show has something for all tastes, with highlights from past shows including video, performance exhibitions, sound art, design, craft and architecture as well as installations, pictures and sculptures. The graduate show at Brighton includes diverse work from the fashion and textile students including the must-see catwalk fashion show and displays from the students in History of Art and Design, whose posters showcase undergraduate research in chosen topics.
The continuing popularity of what are affectionately known to many as “Brighton Uni Degree Shows”, has made our graduate shows a highlight of the arts scene in Brighton. Having enjoyed the generous support of Burt Brill and Cardens Solicitors for 16 years, the show of degree work has always provided an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their art work and be part of a show that transforms the city centre campus into the biggest gallery space in the south-east of England.
Postgraduate degree students also stage a variety of shows throughout the year with a research student symposium and student exhibitions from all the arts practice MA courses in the faculty. Other chances for students to show their work as they progress through their degree at Brighton include the spring exhibitions of second year work and a number of independently organised shows in Brighton and London.
