After a year at Drama school I realised how much I missed Design and that I didn't want to live my life without experiencing uni!
Yes, and I am not stopping here. I love education and the creative freedom from purely commercial considerations it brings. I am really hoping to do a Masters.
I have been so happy in Brighton and can't imagine having a better time anywhere else.
It’s a perfect city to be a student in: not too big; not too small; full of really creative people and a great distance from London. I love how it was possible to get to know the whole city and by the end of my time there I had a great memory for almost every street. I also love being by the ocean.
The main thing I was looking for was creative freedom and I found that in abundance, as well as good critical restrictions. Almost unlimited access to the great workshops is such a rare thing these days and I loved it.
Undoubtedly my highlight was the scholarship to Japan - that was one of my reasons for joining the course and it was simply fantastic. I know that the experience has had will continue to have a lasting influence on my creative practice.
Join this course quick before it disappears! It’s a rare thing to find these days.
How would you describe a typical day on the course? What you make it! Especially towards the end when I had the freedom to do what I thought was important for my work, which is exactly how I work best.
Organizing myself and ensuring that I had all the information I needed as far as meetings and lectures. I often get lost in my own design problems and tasks and keeping in touch with other course members was sometimes tricky.
I really want to go to Amsterdam to intern with Freedom Of Creation. I want to be a part of the company which is shaping the way we think about Rapid Prototyping. I also want to do my Masters degree.
