About Techne

The Techne consortium comprises nine universities in London and the South-East (plus the RCA which is joining another DTP from 2019/20) and has almost 60 AHRC studentships to award each year across a range of arts and humanities disciplines. Initial applications are made through member universities rather than to Techne directly.

For students Techne provides:

  • An environment for students who wish to be intellectually innovative and experimental

  • Varied disciplinary and interdisciplinary training and networking opportunities

  • Collaborative engagement with Partners in the cultural and other sectors

  • Rigorous scholarly training and opportunities to develop skills in innovation, critical thinking, risk taking, creativity and communication that are valued in academic and work contexts

Supervisors and academic staff are invited to contribute to the intellectual life of Techne by becoming members of the Techne Peer Review College which assesses student applications, and participating in events and activities.  Academic staff can apply to Techne for funding to run events for doctoral students.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about Techne. Please contact us by email and we'll respond as soon as we can.
