This creative cooking workshop is an innovative way to explore your PhD, while learning how to make Nepalese-style dumplings (Momos).*

A lecture-demonstration on dumpling preparation methods includes insights on ingredients’ histories, including the colonial background of the spice trade.

In this workshop, crafting dumplings will stimulate conversations about research topics and methodologies. New ideas may be sparked as we engage the physical senses alongside the enquiring mind. Dumpling ingredients are considered metaphorically and historically, and related to students’ research topics and personal background. After sharing these ideas, they will be folded into dumpling parcels and consumed.

The day ends with a feast.

*vegan and vegetarian
