Archives for Humanity: Connecting Collections to New Research in the Humanities
29th Apr 2021 10:00am-3:30pm
The National Archives’
Collection Expertise and Engagement Department is offering a one-day workshop
aimed at students, researchers and scholars which will reveal how stories from the past contained in archives
can underpin all types of humanities scholarship when explained, explored,
structured and presented appropriately and dynamically through case studies.
This session is suitable for wide range of students and researchers.
This includes scholars who think that many of today’s political, economic or
social issues might already have been thought about in the past, but don’t yet
know how to explore relevant evidence, supervisors looking to expand
possibilities for developing future PhD topics or personal research, or any researcher looking for inspiration,
stimulation, new approaches, or surprises from original sources.
Our records specialists will lift the lid on the underexplored value of
TNA collections for humanities scholars by contributing their own experiences
of PhD study, teaching and academic supervision, research project
collaboration, and facilitating archival research at The National Archives.
