How do we forgive the unforgivable? And who does get to say whether we should? Led by acclaimed theatre maker Chinonyerem Odimba, this practically-based workshop addresses these questions through Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, a dark comedy of sex , death and impossible choices that offers the opportunity to put questions of justice and blame to the test by getting them on their feet. More broadly, the workshop explores the possibilities of the arena of performance to set philosophy in action, and of the literary and cultural canon to be repurposed to address the historical wrongs that it has excused, concealed or evaded.
