Responsibility for Historical Wrongs: From Epistemology of Law

This workshop is offered as part of a Techne Conflux, an extended training, development, exhibition or performance programme which aims to enhance research or intellectual skills, or facilitate the sharing of expertise amongst doctoral students in the arts and humanities.

Hybrid event: online and at University of Surrey 

You are cordially invited to the PGR Conflux Techne workshop (funded by AHRC) on “Responsibility for Historical Wrongs: From Epistemology to Law”.

The workshop aims to create a reflective space on conceptions of self, responsibility, and blame for historical wrongs for researchers whose work is at the intersection of humanities and arts.

Speakers: Prof. Rima Basu, (Claremont McKenna College), Prof. Herlinde Pauer Studer, (University of Vienna), and Prof. Gerald Postema (University of North Carolina, Chapell Hill).

 

The programme will be as follows:

From 2:00 to 3:00, brief discussion of Basu's, Pauer-Studer's and Postema's papers. The discussion will be led by Armando Romero, Ambrose Lee, Steve Bero and Veronica Rodriguez-Blanco.

3:15 to 4:00, discussion with Prof Basu.

4:00 to 4:45, discussion with Prof. Pauer-Studer

4:45 to 5:00 Coffee Break

5:00 to 5:45, discussion with Prof. Postema
