Session Info
This session will provide an overview of working in the Arts and Culture sectors alongside insights into the skills needed to create and maintain a career in these industries. This session will be introduced by Dr Gemma Outen and led by Evelyn Wilson. We will be joined by Irini Papadimitriou, Aki Schilz and Dr Enrico Bertelli. Irini will discuss her work across several large cultural organisations, providing insight into working within festivals and digital programmes whilst Aki will outline her work and think about the key skills and motivations you need to thrive within the arts and to develop thriving organisations. Finally, Enrico will discuss branding, networking and business models, outlining his own experiences of creating a multinational organisation blending music, education and technology. This session will consider the multifaceted nature of working in the Arts and Culture sectors sharing our speakers skills and expertise with attendees, encouraging them to think about their own career development.
This workshop is designed for Techne students who are undertaking collaborative or practice-based work as part of their PhD research.
The Culture Capital Exchange (TCCE) is one of the country’s key Cultural Knowledge Exchange organisations. We have an established and extensive track record of work in supporting collaboration, partnerships, networks and engagements of various kinds between Higher Education and the arts and cultural sectors dating back to since our inception as LCACE in 2005.
TCCE will be running a series of five workshops throughout the 22/23 academic year. These will support collaborative or practice-based students from Techne DTP to build partnerships and working relationships with the arts and cultural sectors. These workshops will enable students to focus on their career development, particularly with reference to working across sectors, and will feature expert speakers from across Higher Education and the arts and culture sectors.
