Practical and inspiring open days for first year PhD students

The British Library is a major resource for students of the ancient, medieval and early modern worlds, with internationally important manuscript and printed materials which support study across many disciplines. The collection includes: Greek and Latin papyri; extensive collections of British and European manuscript books; charters, rolls and maps; a collection of incunabula that is unrivalled in size and scope; a 16th-century printed collection from across Europe.

This event takes an interdisciplinary approach to our ancient, medieval and 16th-century western heritage collection. It will appeal to all researchers who are interested in working with these collections at the British Library, including those undertaking PhDs in the areas of classics, history, literature, history of art, religion, and the history of science and medicine.  You will be introduced to the full scope of these collections and learn how to unlock their potential to support your research.

To make the most of your day, you may wish to register for a free Reader Pass before the event.

This event is for first year PhD students who are new to the Library.
