Practical and inspiring open days for first year PhD students
The British Library’s unique collection offers huge potential for social science researchers. The vast and varied collection includes books, journals, government and legal documents, reports, oral history interviews, magazines and broadcast news.
Our collection is international and includes research materials from across the globe in a wide range of languages. We collect born-digital material, including UK domain websites which are available for research purposes onsite.
At this introductory event you will learn about this collection and will discover how to unlock its potential for your research. From anthropology to socio-legal studies, from sociology to economics, from health studies to business and management, you will find resources here that are unavailable elsewhere. The day is an opportunity to meet with our expert staff and other researchers across the social sciences.
To make the most of your day, you may wish to register for a free Reader Pass before the event.
This event is for first year PhD students who are new to the Library.
You can see a draft programme for the day here.
