With an increased workload often characterising 2nd year + PhD life, an obvious question to ask is: How do I improve my writing strategies to help me with my PhD and beyond? This practical, pragmatic and interactive three-module course starts by laying a foundation for your academic writing by showing you how academic English ‘works’ and explores a fundamental principle to create clear writing.
Module 2 demonstrates effective strategies for drafting your PhD or an article through its 1 hour Writing Work Out and highlights a simple formula to help you write effective Introductions, Conclusions and Abstracts efficiently.Module 3 builds on your drafting skills by showing you effective strategies to edit your work to make it shine.
Join trainer Matt Lane and a group of students from across Techne and two other AHRC DTPs (Midlands 4 Cities and North West Consortium) for this three-day intensive to focus on your academic writing.
