Melissa Gira Grant is the author of a groundbreaking new book on sex work - Playing the Whore: The Work of Sex Work
Described as "an important contribution to debates around sex and work" by Nina Power and a "must-read feminist book" by Zoe Stavri (aka Another Angry Woman), Playing the Whore puts sex workers' rights at the heart of the sex work debate: sex work is work, and sex workers' rights are human rights.
Join her in Brighton as she explains why sex workers need rights, not rescue; it's time to shift the focus onto the producers of the anti-sex work discourse: police, feminists, politicians and anti-prostitution campaigners.
Join Grant in discussion with Georgina Voss - a Resident at Lighthouse Arts, where she leads research on speculative futures and policy implications of digital fabrication, grassroots innovation, and sexual healthcare; and Visiting Fellow at CENTRIM, University of Brighton.
