How can women succeed in leadership? In most western societies, women holding top leadership positions is no longer unusual. It is, however, still unusual enough to attract considerable research and provoke debate about why there are not more women in politics, in board rooms, or in public and private sector organisations.
Long before many women can contemplate leadership, they must overcome systemic inequalities that impede work and even life itself. Many women face poverty, unemployment or underemployment, as well as violence. What can we do? How can we unleash our potential and support a better future for women and girls?
The aim of this event will be to generate debate and practical outcomes for women and girls in the Brighton and Hove area (and beyond). Supported by The Girls’ Network, a mentoring network for students and young women, we will be joined by:
