Join in with posts from Isabel Ashdown from our writer in residence blog We are delighted to welcome our special guest speakers: Eleanor Crawforth, Marketing Manager at Myriad Editions Before joining Myriad in December 2013, Eleanor Crawforth worked at independent literary publisher Carcanet Press for eight and a half years. As Editor, she specialised in debut poetry collections and co-edited several new writing anthologies and the literary magazine PN Review. Anna Kelly, Editor at Hamish Hamilton Hamish Hamilton is an imprint of Penguin which publishes high-end literary fiction and non-fiction by authors such as Ali Smith, Zadie Smith, Paul Murray, W. G. Sebald, Dave Eggers, Alain de Botton and Iain Sinclair. Candida Lacey, Publisher and Managing Director at Myriad Editions Candida Lacey is Publisher and MD of Myriad Editions, an independent publisher of original literary fiction and graphic novels, committed to nurturing new authors and building audiences for their work. Kate Shaw, Literary Agent, The Viney Agency, London Kate Shaw has been a literary agent since 2001, joining The Viney Agency in 2009. She represents writers of literary and commercial fiction, children's books from age 7+, and non-fiction across a variety of genres including politics, current affairs, memoir and lifestyle. Her passion is nurturing new literary talent. Sylvie Zannier, Literary Scout and Agent Sylvie Zannier-Betts is a literary scout based in Brighton, reporting on books from the UK - fiction, non-fiction and children's - to foreign publishers, advising them on what could be of interest for their list and respective markets. How to Get Published has been organised has been organised by Isabel Ashdown, the University of Brighton's Writer in Residence. Isabel is author of three novels, all published by Myriad: Glasshopper, Hurry Up and Wait and most recently, Summer of '76.
