BoBo Design and associate designers: 'Marriage of Materials'
BoBo Design Ltd (founded by designers Nick Gant and Tanya Dean) has a distinguished history of exploring, developing and utilising a language with materials – in particular they have gained a world-wide recognition for progressing the use of Perspex acrylic as an elemental creative tool, through award winning architectural and product / furniture design realisations and expressions. BoBo's ongoing interaction with Perspex has resulted in a proposal for further exploration of the language of materials through the 'Marriage of Materials' brief, written and co-ordinated by Nick Gant. Through the participation of an exciting group of multi-disciplinary artists, designers and craftspeople, this brief explores the boundaries and expressive vocabulary of inter-disciplinary materials practice.
A seminar focussing upon relationships of craft and design practices with materials, their complexity, familiarity and newness will accompany the "Marriage of Materials" exhibition on December 13th at 11am in the Gallery.
