Lecture by artist Kate MccGwire
Kate MccGwire has been invited to speak to our level 4 design students as part of their year long unit 'Design and Culture Under Scrutiny.' All students, practioners and tutors across the faculty are very welcome to attend, and Kate specifically asked that fine art and sculpture students be invited.
Kate MccGwire makes sculptural work in feathers, which is exhibited in a wide variety of contexts including her very recent solo show Lure, at All Visual Arts Gallery, 2 Omega Place, London, and as part of Wonderful in the ‘me Collectors Room’, Augustrasse exhibition space, Berlin. She was also creative director on a fashion editorial in September 2012 for the cross-disciplinary Garage Magazine, that straddles the art and fashion worlds. She currently features in Crafts magazine, and her first monograph, Lure, was published in January 2013.
