The castaway at this event will be Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller.
He will be interviewed by artist and writer Stephen Bull who is Course Leader for Photography BA(Hons) at the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts. Stephen devised and hosts this series of events in which he talks to an artist, photographer, curator or writer about the eight photographs they would choose to take to a desert island.
Previous castaways have included: photographer Martin Parr (for a sold out audience at the Corn Exchange Brighton for last year’s Brighton Festival); Simon Baker, curator of Photography and International Art at Tate; celebrity-lookalike artist and filmmaker Alison Jackson; photographer Anna Fox; Observer photography critic Sean O’Hagan; artist Mishka Henner; and photographer Peter Fraser.
