In this paper, I argue that Michael Walzer's argument about just and unjust war fails to cohere with his account of supreme emergencies. To remedy this fault, Walzer would have to either deny the plausibility of his dirty hands account or acknowledge that his just war argument is in fact an argument about dirty hands. The former of these two options is blocked.
