In this practical session, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of becoming self-employed, and talk about graduates from the Faculty of Arts who have successfully gone on to run their own business, work freelance, or set up their own community arts practice.
By the end of the session, workshop attendees will be equipped with the skills and know-how to generate and analyse entrepreneurial ideas and will have been introduced to the key financial tools they need to plan and manage their venture. They will also learn about free business support from the university, and further afield, which they can access upon graduation.
This session will be co-facilitated by Clare Griffiths, Business Development Manager (Entrepreneurship) and Joanna Zara, Senior Lecturer and Accountant.
